Important Year for an Island Visit - September 2022 Kona, The Big Island

Met our youngest son and wife as a revisit to the islands (Oahu and Maui) after 30 years of various other travel destinations. Having never been to Kona, found it was interesting in all aspects and was a much needed break after just retiring. The island offered much beauty, culture and surprises along the way and continues to be on our minds with earthquakes and volcanic activity brewing. If you’ve been to this island, we would love to read your comments.

From a photography standpoint, we found there were many opportunities in the uniqueness of this island with its rugged terrain, agricultural specialties, people and the magnitude of its ongoing upheaval that we discovered at Volcanoes National Park. Highly recommending that if you get to this island soon, be sure to take in the history, the present, and the future of the explosive aspect of the island that are the volcanoes themselves.
