Trip to Colorado and Wyoming

Just organizing from our family trip to Colorado and Wyoming to see the great west. After landing in Denver, we proceeded south to Columbine to see the HS memorial on its 10th anniversary. Quite a moving experience leaving you wondering "why?". A lovely community, beautiful park overlooking the school and memorial. Words and messages etched in stone for the ages. Do not miss this if you are in Denver!

On to Laramie for graduation at University of Wyoming. Very nice campus and definitely a college town. Enjoyed a very picturesque time climbing rocks at Vedauwoo. Spent three nights at a small ski resort in the very small town of Jelm, Wyoming, with the Laramie River running in the back yard behind the cabin. The town is noted for the only dance floor of its kind in the world (suspension coils underneath).

Packed up everyone and headed to Jackson Hole to see the Tetons and Yellowstone. Lots of hiking to do in the Tetons, beautiful scenery and extremely majestic mountains. We were there early enough to romp in the snow in our sweatshirts. Mild temps and blue skies, but sadly for photography purposes, frozen lakes. Would have loved to have captured some blue water! Yellowstone is just too darned big. We did make it to Old Faithful and believe me, it was cold with a killer wind. But the Old Faithful Inn at Yellowstone is quite a landmark.
